Nathan Arneson

Welcome back! Let's just jump right in, with someone I'm very excited to Introduce. There has been this guy the boys and I have been following forever. His name is Nathan. Now us boys growing into our adulthood used to frequent the Little Red Hen when it was cool and we were in college and could go play on week nights. We drank far to much and would get housed from our favorite bartender Connie, and Nathan was the Karaoke DJ. We used to go so big, that Nathan and I were featured in 'Seattle Magazine':

We are singing "American Soldier" dedicated to our good buddy Brian Pavlik and all the other soldiers out there. It was also closing time... HAHAHA

One the side he used to be in this band called Nathan's band or something rediculous. Well, he's been bouncing around for a while. He started Latigo Lace before they parted ways. Then he teamed up with this dude to start Nathan and Chance. Well, the one constant in all this from an outsiders perspective was that Nathan is a really good singer, and he is the one shining spot on all these adventures and bands. He sings a little Tim McGraw ish, but brings his own flavor when he gets freaking crazy and starts on an ACDC kick :)

I want to side track and tell you all a little story. As most of you close to me know, when I proposed we went on a country cruise out of Galveston, TX. There were some hurricanes at the time before we departed and so the beach scene was a little sketchy. Needless to say, I couldn't hold my excitement and do it on the beach, I had to do it the first night. The next day when I got my meet and greet with Trent Willmon, I was absolutely on cloud nine b/c my wonderful wife had said yes. I gushed a bit to the camera, and so they were filming this and Chrissy and I ended up on GAC something or other show. Now flashing forward and tying into Nathan.

In addition to him being our DJ when we were in college I have seen him do some pretty amazing things. I've seen him perform at small venues like the Hen. I pretty much see him at every event I attend at QWEST field, from Hawks games to Kenny concerts he's always performing for KMPS or the Wolf. I've seen him open for Pat "F'ing" Green at the Showbox. We've been in magazines together and he's been in magazines by himself. I've seen it all, and we have a bit of history. well, I was watching him play a few weeks ago at the hen, and to my surpise when Nathan was down in Mexico, GAC was there. He decided to stop the show and let me know that they were showing some random footage, and wouldn't you know it, Chrissy and I came on the screen! It's always funny how random hapenstance brings us all together and makes such a large world feel like a small place sometimes.

Now that you know a little bit about him, I would invite you to friend him on Myspace of Facebook (Nathan Arneson). Please sample his music and I'm pretty confident you'll enjoy it. In addition I'll add some links for you to read a bit about him.

Before the links I'll leave you with an upcoming show that I would love to see you at!

Spring is in the air!

So, it's been far to long since I've written anything in this blog.

To be honest, there isn't alot more to talk about except one person (Next Blog Entry).

The Seattle scene is staying pretty status quo. There are a handful of people that play at the Little Red Hen on the regular that I'm not especially into.

Knut Bell is still doing his thing going big! He's usually got 2-3 shows a week, but unfortunately, They are all up north. At 10 a gallon driving and staying sober or a HUGE cab bill... they just aren't doable for me. I have caught him at the hen multiple times since the last entry (March 09). His shows are ALWAYS kick ass, so I mean why try to hype him more than I already have. The one show I will highlight is one I caught up in Anacortes.

My buddy John Lapsanski (I can never spell his name) owns a motorcycle company and fab shop named "Dog House Engineering" (http://doghouseengineering.com/) They put out some nice bikes! I prefer to call them Dawghouse since we all went to University of Washington together, but that is neither here nor there. Onto the story! He puts on a motorcycle ride every year called "Break the Leash" and he's been begging me to go. One problem, I don't ride bikes. So, I took the top off the bronco and went to play a little rough and rowdy with some hogs. A couple pics from the ride up to Anacortes:

This is at a stop sign. There are alot of Hogs!

This is us rolling down the street :D

Made a pit stop at Deception Pass, and I decided to have a little fun with the parking situation. HAHAHA

Most importantly though, the bikes! This one is a beauty!

So, Post ride, we had a get together at this bar (I wanna say the green lantern?)in anacortes. It was a tiny little place that was broke into two parts, where each part was about the size of Mainstreet Ale House in Bothell. Well, John inticed me to go because he had hired Knut! WOOT! It was one of the most personable shows being that it was just a little group compared to the hen. It just made it that much more kick ass. I know John's old man loved the show too, so I was very proud of my recommendation.
